The Unity Conference takes place in Dublin, Ireland in mid November. For those seeking a fine child and youth care conference experience, a foreign break and a chance to Christmas shop in style, this is the ticket. The chill of the fall is forgotten over a warm bowl of Irish Stew in a 300 year old pub. The people are incredible, warm and into fun. They will have you toe tapping, perhaps dancing and definitely smiling in no time. Dublin is a Georgine City, perhaps one of the finest. It displays the British Empire at its highest point with its palace and parliament and at a low point in that Ireland broke away from that very empire. The story of Ireland told in its fine museum will enlighten anyone interested in the post colonial experience throughout the Commonwealth. Trinity University, founded by Queen Elizabeth I has its fall convocation around this time which adds to a must do visit to its campus. Should you choose you can nip up to Belfast to visit the Titanic Museum or hop over to the Giant's Causeway. Many make this conference an annual experience and with each visit find themselves exploring the country deeper and deeper each time. Ireland and Unity may draw you back time and time again. Bring a friend, stay a little longer.
